Father's Not There Inc.

Father's Not There is a non-profit corporation dedicated to equipping inner city youth with essential life skills through mentorship, helping them avoid becoming victims of their environment and circumstances.
To create and offer services that empower this young generation, to focus on academic pursuits, even in the face of trauma stemming from an absent parent of incarceration, or other challenges.
To provide support networks, that fill the void of absent role models, break the crisis of multi-generational incarceration and mass incarceration through mentorship and rewarding academic achievement, further raising awareness of the traumatic impact that, a parent's incarceration has on a child, and highlighting the likelihood that it will cause the child to follow a criminal path.
Additionally, we seek to combat the victimization of children with absent parents and bridge the achievement gap for inner-city youth by incentivizing programs that support single-parent households in need of school supplies and other essentials for success.
Father's Not There thus works with and sponsors at risk youth, who are surrounded by gang activity, drug use and whom are at constant risk of having to experience foster care or other residential placements.
Engaging with formally incarcerated impact players and core influencers whose focus is dedicated to transformative living. These mentors help Innercity youth know their individual worth and the alternatives to destructive life decisions. Showing through the experiences of older mentors that options exist which can ensure a meaningful and fulfilling life. different from the dead-end choices that mentors faced in their youth when they had little to no support.
Ultimately, the incorporation strives to increase public safety by decreasing gang activity, the incarceration rate, underlayment, academic failure and generational cycles of violence and criminality.
At F.N.T., we firmly believe that every young person deserves the chance to thrive and make positive life choices.
